LOS ANGELES, CA - AUGUST 30, 2022 - La'Chris Jordan's historical drama Piney Ridge made it to the second round of the esteemed ISA Fast Track Fellowship. The selected writers will now go on to be considered for a place in the Top 50, followed by the Genre Selections and the Fast Track Fellowship which includes a week of industry meetings and mentorship.
Fast Track Fellows have signed with major agencies like CAA, Paradigm and ICM. Many have been introduced to and then signed with management companies. Other fellows have had their scripts optioned which led to development deals.
Piney Ridge has received multiple awards including Best TV Concept at the 2020 Queen Palm International Film Festival and winner of the 2019 The Script Lab Screenwriting Contest. Inspired by true events, Piney Ridge is the story of a Black female sharecropper in 1930s Virginia who sets out on a mission of personal revenge following a heart-wrenching tragedy, all while fighting the exploitation of the town’s wealthy landowners and the violent harassment of the local sheriff and his posse of unlawful men.
